Theta Music Trainer

Theta Music Trainer is a subscription online theory and ear-training system. There are more than 300 levels and over 15 fun and challenging games. The update includes three new games: Speed Pitch, Number Blaster, and Dango Brothers. Practice and master modes for all games have been strengthened.

Now, users will experience a higher degree of individualization through the Personal Trainer feature. This feature suggests additional practice based on the user’s performance in the games. Student progress can also be created, tracked, and graded online by teachers.

The site can now be used by Spanish speakers with more languages to come in the near future.

Breezin’ Thru Theory

Breezin’ Thru Theory is a colorful and appealing subscription site featuring a single concept approach to learning composition and theory. Activities include: See it- Hear it, Mad Dash Drills, Composer’s Corner, & Summative Tests.

Suitable for both individual and class learning, all lessons can be downloaded as PDF files and printed. They can also be downloaded through Sibelius or Finale and used with computers, iPads & tablets, and Smart Boards.

New and improved features include more models, listening examples and audio examples in composition lessons, more drills, 2 minute video tips for teachers, a new chapter on musical terms, a Composition Wall where winning student compositions are recognized, and the Mad Dash Shoot ‘n Score hockey game.

The Shoot ‘n Score hockey game covers all clefs (alto & tenor too) and ledger lines. The four activities in the game are: Stickin’ the Staff, Rhythm Rocks, Icing Intervals, and Trippin’ thru Triads.

Music Teaching Resources

The Music Teaching Resources site has been updated and is easier than ever to navigate and use. For one low fee, the user gets a packet of more than 200 PDF worksheets and handouts. There is no limit on the number of times they may be used.

New to the site is a collection of scale spelling worksheets covering major and  natural minor diatonic and pentatonic scales with a free PowerPoint presentation on major scale construction. Also new is a section on Diatonic Harmony containing worksheets and puzzles in which the student identifies and names chords and the key to which they belong.
