cakeTomorrow evening is our EAC Piano Recital. We always try to do something to make the evening special for both the performers and the audience. This spring, we decided to choose quotations to project behind each pianist as they perform. There were no limits on the origin of the quotation. The only stipulation was that it had to help the listener connect to the performer’s concept of the piece. So, here are 8 of the quotations along with the list of pieces (there is one extra piece in the list just to make it more challenging). Have fun matching them all up!

  1. Debussy, Isle of Joy
  2. Haydn Sonata in E Minor Hob. 33 Mvt. 1
  3. Brahms, Intermezzo Op. 118 No. 2
  4. MacDowell Improvisation Op. 46 No. 4
  5. Chopin Fantasie Impromptu
  6. Haydn Variations in F Minor
  7. Khachaturian Sonatina 1. Allegro Molto
  8. MacDowell Etude No 12, Hungarian
  9. Barber Nocturne
